In addition, the PIN r diodes of er good p wer-handling capabilities and are less sensitive to f o electrostatic discharge pro lems . These f eatures are impo tant con b r side ations in base station applications where the effects of antennar related RF s witching and indirect lightning-inducedv oltage spi es are k present. PIN diode components a ve inherent ad antageso ver the GaAs alte h v r natives at PCS/cellular frequencie . The PI-800 Se ies atte uator s r n mak es use of these advantages in a o w cost sur ace-mount pa kage l f c suitab le for pick-and-place application . As a result, the attentuator s satisfies both the technical specifications and the manufactur ing requirements of tod y's demanding commercial ma ketplac . a r e PIN diodes are widely accepted as more robust alte natives to GaAs r FETs and of er higher isolation with o wer inse tion loss than plastic f l r pac kaged GaAs atte uators at P ersonal Com unications Se vice n m r (PCS) frequencie . The PI-800 Se ies analog atte uator incor por ates s r n PI N diodes with highly relia le thick-film technology and sur ace mount b f components on a miniatureol w cost sealed sur ace mount alumina f heade .
